Spent the weekend in New York…first time I’ve been there since I came into the country. Good times with good people.

So happy Fabrice Muamba is back on the road to recovery. Reading the article about his recovery reminded me that we are both in a special club. I don’t say that to sound cool or try to latch on to the publicity this situation has given him.
We are both 24 year old Africans who went through cardiac arrest and lived to talk about it. In addition we both have ICD’s. After my episode I had to give up basketball for a while, I’m holding out hope that the doctors will clear Muamba to play again.
After gettng an ICD you have to recover mentally and physically. From my experience I had to get over the fact that this thing was a part of me forever. That took some time because you feel different, and it stays on the back of your mind for a while.
I can play basketball and still bring it, but it’s not the same. I hope this will not be the case for Fabrice. I would love to see him run around the pitch again.
I didn’t even plan on going, both my classes were canceled. I took it as an omen. Couldn’t get into the park. Went to Pickles and some other bars, kind of lost track of time. Also the O’s won 4-2. First opening day I’ve ever been to.
Got to see one of my favorite artists Friday night. My friend Femi surprised me with tickets to the Dom Kennedy show at soundstage. It was a good show, he did some of my favorite tracks, and did some stuff from the Yellow Album.
I want that blazer the blazer Martin Kewon is wearing. It looks like it might be custom made. Such a Gunner legend.
